Over the years I've recorded myself in different ways: a couple of cheap vocal microphones or the audio off a camera. When I went to Iraq, I got a new way, with my electronic drumset. Now I could just plug into my laptop and play, and even later line up my track with what I played along to, rather than record everything in one shot, hoping the levels are right. It's not the best electric set money can buy, but for my purposes it works very well. On this page you will find some examples of those recordings. What you will also find is collaborations between my friend Paul and I. We started to make some of our own songs while thousands of miles apart, sending mp3's back and forth via email, adding to what each other had created. Below are some of the more refined songs, though none of them are officially 'done' at the moment. |

drumming along to songs This is a small sample of the songs I played along to while I was in Iraq. These were usually sent to Dena in compilations, so she could imagine we were together with me drumming. Not quite the same, but it's something! |

woodman and lemonlime / motion defect A sampling of some of the music made by Paul and I. The song titles were almost a competition in of themselves, making them as obscure and 'deep' as possible. Our band is now known as 'motion defect' and has a website. |
